What can I say? We're finally done! 12 years of school finally coming to end, I'm so proud of myself, I finally made it! This week we finished up the last finishing touches on everything we had for capstone, such as our Weebly, notecards, hands-on, you name it. Thursday or yesterday was crazy, at least for me, I had to run back and forth to and from school and home to get my hands on material. However while laying out my hands on some of the measurements were incorrect so I had to make some quick final adjust last minute! However other than that Capstone night went great, I had an amazing time with my judges explaining my field and future dreams, which they were so supportive of. After that night A huge sense of relief, a huge sense of accomplishment. I'd personally like to thank 3 people for helping me make my work even better, first my brother Jesus who was also one of my mentors, he helped me practice my lines and talking, Kara Jones(AKA my 2nd Grade Teacher) who helped me grammatically, and finally last but not least my Capstone teacher Peter Foote, he was very supportive, gave e great advice, helped me at troubling times, just was always there to help and I really appreciate that. However I would like to thank everyone else who supported me and got me to this point! CLASSOF2019!!!

Week 9, where do I start? A lot happened this week, Not only am I catching up on all my work for my classes but this week I also finished my Trifold. I also did my 5 minute practice presentation and Mann I was nervous. However I got some good feedback that will help me for my final presentation and I'm glad I did this practice first, because honestly I would have messed up, but thats whats practice is for, to help you improve.
This week I worked on my trifold, however to be honest a lot of regret happened that week from poor planning on ,my end. By this I mean while working on my poster I didn't preplan how I was gong to have it so I had to scrap the first poster and start anew. However I did get a good majority of it done and some work done on my weekly. This week could've been better but theres always next week!
This week I am planning the steps and procedures that will happen at my capstone, so far I'm a little stuck as to how the presentation will go but I think I'll have a better clue in time. Another thing I also did this week was buy trifold supplies, just to make my presentation look neat, organized and clean. To be honest customizing the trifold was probably the best part about this project because it threw some fun in. However I only just started and it was fun doing it, Ill continue to work on it over the time of the course however.
This week was good, I was able to finally finish my paper! Ugh so much stress finally gone, but still not done with Capstone, I still have to kick it in for the last couple of days. However this week I was able to make edits to my rough draft and turn in my final draft. Added more on my weebly and was able to find a Junior to come to my capstone. Im also volunteering at the girls Varsity Soccer Game, which is like 3 hours, and those are going to my last remaining required volunteering hours, so a good week? Yes, a GREAT WEEK!
This week I can honestly say I felt like I had senioritis, my motivation was dropping, however I was able to pick myself up. I began to imagine walking the stage, it was then that my motivation came back, I finished peer editing my paper some more. I'm still looking for a Junior, not sure who to ask because the few I already asked were taken ugh. This week was more of a planning week, on what I'd present and how I'd present it.
Week 4 came and I was still on my paper, however almost being finished. I spent a lot of time thinking of how to write this paper, honestly I was stumped, so I began to spend class time on thoroughly reading through all my sources, scanning to see if there was any information I could incorporate into my project/paper. Dumbfounded I took a break from writing and later that week I figured out a creative way to involve more of the audience when I present on presentation day! Ideas just started coming to mind when I stopped stressing over the paper, the stress is slowly building up but as capstone comes close I believe it will eventually go away.
Week 3 went good, not great however. I got a good amount done on my essay, and gained more in sight on construction! I didn't get as much as I wanted done but I plan to work on it over the weekend, guess I have to remake some plans but oh well. I pretty much only need to finish the second parts of my essay which really isn't much, I want next week to be different, I want to finish it by then and have it peer-edit. The mini project downstairs is making progress! slowly getting a small sense of the feeling how it is to work in construction. Also had a speaker come into class and show us an amazing way to get sources, its called MEL it's a great tool for finding sources!
Wow week 2 is already coming to an end, it didn't really feel that long. However I'm sad to say that week 2 wasn't as productive as week 1, I worked more on my website, and getting my questions answered from my mentors. I also found 3 sources on the internet to reference in my paper, so overall not the best week. I would rate this week a low 60% on effort sadly, however theres always a rainbow after a storm so I hope to spend week 3 finishing as much as possible and starting my essay or at least begin making the intro-1st body paragraph.
The first week of Capstone was in a way sort of a relief. I say this because I'd thought it'd be this HUGE project, one that everyone always says is stressful but in reality it wasn't. I mean yah it's a big project but if you spend your time wisely then theres nothing to worry about, just dedication is all it takes really! However back to finishing week 1 of Capstone, everything went smooth, I finished my essential question, interview questions, have 2 mentors, and already have an idea of what to do for my Capstone! Overall a successful week, have a great teacher to help me with any questions, and a great environment to work.
